Abstract:
In this study, we sequenced the mitogenome and seven
nuclear genes from 45 samples representing 37 recognized
species and two unidentified species of cave loaches within
the family Nemacheilidae. We constructed the most
comprehensive phylogenetic tree to date and resolved and
estimated the phylogenetic relationships at the genus level as
well as the taxonomy and validity of certain species of
Chinese cave loaches. These results are important for further
research on the origin, evolution, adaptative radiation, and
conservation of Chinese cavefish.
