Note
Galan (1995) notes a troglomophic species of Trichomycterus from Venezuela. It was still not decribed in a review paper 11 years later (Galan and Herrera 2006).

This species is not yet described and there are no types.
Distribution
Troglomorphic and undescribed populations of Trichomycterus are found in both Cueva Grande de Anton Göering and Sima del Naranjo, karst of Mata de Mango, Monagas State, Venezuela (Galan et al. 2009). It is not known if these are two populations of a single species or two separate troglomorphic species.
