Types

Holotype: HRSC 20151002001 118.0mm SL. Paratypes: HRSC 20151002002-6, HRSC 20151004001-2, KIZ 2015005390, KIZ 2015005391.

Distribution

Known only from the type locality: a seasonal outlet of subterranean water, Longtao Village, Tianxing Township, Qiubei County, Yunnan Province, China. 23o56’29”N, 104o13’04”E.

Habitat

Not known, the animal was collected from the resurgence and no details of the cave are known.

Systematics

No information is available. A good comparison of subterranean Triplophysa species is provided by Wu et al. (2018).
