Distribution
Known only from the type locality: Mabiehe River, Nanpanjiang River, Pearl River drainage basin, Xingyi City, Guizhou Province, southwest China, 25 30 15 N, 105 1047 E.
Habitat
This species is known only from karst subterranean rivers in Xingyi, Guizhou, China, a tributary of the Mabiehe River. It was collected from a well that connects with the subterranean river. The cave entrance is not more than 1 m wide. During rainy season, water flows out from the cave entrance.
Systematics
This species is sister to Sinocyclocheilus flexuosdorsalis.
