Holotype: KIZ 9409005 42.0mm SL. Paratypes: KIZ 9409001-004, KIZ 9409006 37.5mm - 43.5mm SL .

Distribution

Known only from the Type Locality: Underground stream at Bao'an town, ca. 24°07'N, 107°51'E, Du'an County, Guangxi Province, China.

No details provided in original description.

Systematics

See comments in Kottelat 2012:84.

Luo et al. (2023) propose that this species (together with three others: the hypogean species Troglonectes acridorsalis, Oreonectes anophthalmus, Heminoemacheilus hyalinus and the epigean Heminoemacheilus parva be relocated in to the new genus Karstsinnectes. However, there is some uncertainty that this generic name was properly defined and further information is required.
