Distribution
Known only from the type locality: An underground river in a cave in Shuangrufeng (which means Double Breast Hill) Scenic, Etian Village, Zhexiang Township, Zhenfeng County, Guizhou Province, China. (25°28′25.9″N, 105°37′54.9″E), altitude 1,060 m.
Habitat
The cave entrance is approximately 4 m deep and 3 m wide. The underground river is the important drinking water supplier of the local community. The habitat of S. zhenfengensis is situated about 50 m away from the cave entrance, could only be reached by swimming, and is in complete darkness.
