Proteus anguinus parkelj Sket and Arntzen 1994
Proteus parkelj, the black Olm, was originally considered as a subspecies of Proteus anguinus. It has now been conclusively shown that it is one of nine independant lineages within the genus Proteus (Recknagel et al. 2023)
Common names include: Black Olm, Black Proteus and Black mocheril (Aljancic et al. 1993:28-30)
