Abstract:
The purpose of this short communication is to describe the circumstances of the designation of a wrong specimen as lectotype, to designate another specimen from the original description as the correct lectotype, and to exclude the formerly designated specimen from the type series of the Banded Tetra, Astyanax aeneus.
